Charity

Serious Trust is an independent national charity which is committed to talent development (supporting emerging artists in building sustainable careers) and learning & participation (creating opportunities for a broad range of people to enrich their cultural experience and personal development through music) in communities and audiences across the UK. The Trust also commissions work; offering artists opportunities to create and perform new works which enable them to reach the next step in their career, and to maintain a diverse music scene.

Our love of music here at Jazz FM is unending.  And it is therefore great to team up with a charitable organisation like Chiltern Music Therapy to put music to good use.

Chiltern Music Therapy (CMT) is an award-winning not-for-profit organisation that provides music therapy services to people of all ages and many different needs. Earlier this year, along with our friends at Yamaha UK, we supported their iPod Pharmacy initiative where, in basic terms, we took your old iPods!

While you are online buying your Xmas gifts for family and friends, why not make one more purchase and buy a playlist for someone who needs music therapy?

If you can spare as little as £10 this Christmas, then why not make a donation via the link below and help create those playlists to harness the power of music.

You can still donate your iPod or mp3 music player also! And for every iPod received, our friends at Yamaha UK will donate a pair of headphones. The quickest way is to pop it into a padded envelope (with charger if possible) to The iPod Pharmacy (co/Jazz FM).  Find out your nearest drop off point here.

The h. Club Foundation inspires, nurtures and showcases the next generation of creative talent. Through it’s programmes it aims to make the creative industries more diverse, more transparent and more accessible.

Jazz FM supports the Foundation’s Head Start programme which connects disadvantaged young people to training, experiences and work opportunities in the creative industries. It aims to build a bridge between creative professionals and underrepresented young people, raising aspirations and providing access to previously inaccessible opportunities.

Place2Be works in schools providing early intervention mental health support, without stigmatising children, young people or families and at a point where they need it most. We currently reach a school population of over 105,000 children aged 4-14 in England, Scotland and Wales.

Place2Be removes the emotional barriers to learning and prevents the downward spiral that can lead to low aspirations, poor educational achievement, truancy and exclusion from school. We help improve children's classroom learning and build their resilience, providing them with brighter prospects and hopeful futures.
